Selecting Print from the Edit menu will open the InstantPlanner Printouts dialog, where you do your print settings and finally print the desired Layout Drawing, Bill of Material or Quotation.
Apart from accessing the print dialog from the File menu, you can open dialog in a number of different ways:
Click on the Print button on the toolbar.
Use the shortcut key Ctrl+P.
From the Print Frame component on the Tools tab.

The dialog is divided into two main fields, the Layout Drawing field and the Print List field. You can choose to print out the drawing layout together with the list/-s or to print one item at a time. If for example, you only want to print a bill of material, you would uncheck the Layout Drawing box and check the Bill of Material box in the Print List field.
In the Layout Drawing field, you have the following options:
Layout Drawing: Choose whether you want to print the Layout Drawing or not.
Show logotype: Choose whether you want to show the logotype on the printout or not.
Black and white: Choose whether you want the print out in black and white or not.
In the same field, you can also use the radio buttons to choose whether you want to print:
Drawing area: You will print everything in the drawing area.
Selected print frame: You will print the contents of the selected print frame (the Print Frame is on the Tools tab).
All print frames: You will print the contents of all the print frames in the drawing area.
In order to insert a logotype onto the drawing, check the box next to Show Logotype.
Then proceed as follows:
Click the Browse button to find the file you would like to insert.
Select the file and choose Open.
Click on the Preview button in order to see the result in the Print Preview window.

Note: InstantPlanner can only insert logotypes that are saved using the bitmap format (.bmp). |
In the Scale box, you can enter the scale to use for your printout. If you click the Fit button to the left, the program will automatically adjust the drawing scale to the components in the drawing area. The two other buttons, 1:20 and 1:50, allow you to choose one of these two scales. Other scale values can be entered into the white text field to the right. However, in order to do so, you first have to click the "..." button. Then it is possible to type in the desired scale.

Note: TheScale buttons are only available if you have chosen the Drawing Area option. If you use a print frame, you set the scale for this one individually in the Print Frame dialog. |
Below the scale options, select the Layout Drawing tab if it is not already selected. The Layout Drawing Printer Settings field is shown.
In the Copies box, enter how many copies you would like to print.
Click on the arrow on the right-hand side of the drop-down list below to select which printer to use and the paper format.
If you click on the Settings button, you open the Windows dialog where you can change the paper orientation amongst other things.
Click on the Preview button to open the Print Preview window to see the printout.
Finally print the drawing layout from there.

Note: The Layout Drawing Printer Settings field is only available if you have chosen the Drawing Area option. If you use a print frame, you set the printer and the printout format individually in the Print Frame dialog. |
In order to print a bill of material, in the Print List field, do as follows:
Check the Bill of Material option.
Go to the lower left-hand corner of the dialog and select the Bill of Material tab. The Bill of Material Printer Settings field is shown.
In the Copies box, enter how many copies you would like to print.
Click on the arrow on the right-hand side of the drop-down list below to select which printer to use and the paper format.
If you click on the Settings button, you open the Windows dialog where you can change the paper orientation amongst other things.
Click on the Preview button to open the Print Preview window to see the printout.
Finally print the bill of material from there.

Note: It is recommended that the bill of material is printed out with Landscape orientation. Depending on the tab selected (Layout Drawing,Bill of Material orQuotation), the recommended orientation is always shown to the right. |
In order to print a quotation, in the Print List field, do as follows:
Check the Quotation box.
If you want the total price to show on the printout, check the Include Total Price box.
Check the Include Ruler option if you wish to include a visible scale on your printout.
Go to the lower left-hand corner of the dialog box and select the Quotation tab. The Quotation Printer Settings field is shown.
In the Copies box, you enter how many copies you would like to print.
Click the arrow on the right-hand side of the drop-down list below to select which printer to use and the paper format.
If you click on the Settings button, you open the Windows dialog where you can change the paper orientation amongst other things.
Click on the Preview button to open the Print Preview window to see the printout.
Finally print the quotation from there.
In order to insert a logotype onto the bill of material and/or the quotation, check the box next to Show logotype.
Then proceed as follows:
Click the Browse button to find the file you would like to insert.
Select the file and choose Open.
Click on the Preview button in order to see the result in the Print Preview window.

At the bottom of the InstantPlanner Printouts dialog, the following buttons can be found:
Calculation - opens the Calculation dialog box normally accessed from the Company menu.
Quotation Info - opens the Quotation Information dialog normally accessed from the Company menu.
XML Export - here you have the possibility to save the list information in the XML format. XML is a standardized format for transferring information between different systems.
Preview - opens the Print Preview window, which shows the printout layout.
Save as PDF allows you to save the printout as a PDF document. To open a PDF file, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe web site.
Print prints the drawing you selected.
Cancel closes the dialog.

Note: To create a PDF document, special Adobe fonts are required. The program will create these fonts automatically the first time you create a PDF document in the program. This process is necessary in order to get a correct PDF appearance and must not be interrupted. When updating Windows fonts, the program will automatically create the equivalent Adobe fonts for these. |
